Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its own results. Guadalupe County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the site's operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive routine technical and usage details:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring website, when available
- Time spent on viewed pages
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which Guadalupe County resource pages receive visits and where sessions end. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although some functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and resolving performance or technical faults
- Operating, securing, and improving the website
- Routing a search request to the selected outside provider
- Measuring which pages visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Guadalupe County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes reference material about the Guadalupe County Sheriff, New Mexico courts, NMDPS State Central Repository, and New Mexico Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a third-party criminal profile or a consumer report. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search tools displayed on some pages. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information entered in those boxes. This policy does not control those companies, so review the applicable provider policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Guadalupe County offices, New Mexico court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or commercial search services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select ads. Their tracking is not operated under this site's direct control.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process queries submitted to their tools
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, and the site cannot promise that an intrusion or loss will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights can depend on residence and the law that applies. New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act, §§14-2-1 through 14-2-12 NMSA 1978, governs records held by public bodies and does not turn this private site into a government custodian. Section 29-10-6 NMSA 1978 provides a subject-access process for a person's own state arrest-record information through NMDPS, separate from visitor data kept here. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request a copy of personal data held about them
- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Object to or opt out of certain processing when applicable
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revised version will appear here with its effective date.
